Peck Building Major Modernization
Cincinnati, Ohio

ShapiroCM’s role in the building’s major modernization project began in the design phase in 2006, with construction completed in 2013. This 10-story, 785,000SF building was enhanced with major architectural and MEP systems upgrades. The scope, primarily centered on the building envelope, including full roof and window replacement and interior upgrades to improve the functionality, appearance and energy efficiency of this important building complex. Interface with over 20 federal tenant agencies was integral to ShapiroCM’s effort.

Alexander Hamilton U.S. Custom House
New York, New York

The building houses the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York and has been the home to the National Archives at New York City since 2012. The National Archives space buildout is one of several projects that ShapiroCM has had in the building.

Due to the nature and value of the collection and the age of the building, many special considerations were made in the process of renovating the space, including a special air-handling system to house the historic contents.

Our role included the development, design and construction delivery of a new $69-million, 2000-student, 340,000SF high school on a 100-acre site in Franklin Township, Somerset, NJ, as well as six expansion/renovation projects at other schools in the district. The multi-project, multi-year program, all delivered via a single CMa contract engagement, was completed in mid-2008. This contract was won via a competitive bid process. With the help of Arne Aakre, an architect and former colleague, Jay won the contract and successfully delivered the project – marking the firm’s first major gig.
