Raised by Anglo South African parents, Jay’s father’s work in public health with UNICEF brought the family to various locations overseas through his completion of high school in 1973. Jay was a soccer player his whole life and played at the intercollegiate level in Canada, after which he moved to New Jersey and held the title of Vice President at multiple firms.
In 2002, Jay stepped out on his own to create ShapiroCM and has been dedicated to building relationships and structures ever since. To him, creating a positive impact within the industry and surrounding communities starts by being easy to work with. He believes that maintaining a positive attitude and cheerful disposition while solving issues and eliminating roadblocks for clients ensures that they will not only choose ShapiroCM in the first place, but also seek out our services again in the future.
On a personal level, Jay is the proud husband to his wife Louise of 44 years, and they are blessed to have three children: Heather, Holly and Marc. With their children’s spouses/partners Denis, Michael and Clare, Jay and Louise now have eight wonderful grandchildren to love: Nathan (9); Charlie (7); Reed (6); Cole (5); Rosa (3) Riley (2); Finn (1) and Tycho (1).
Nowadays, in addition to golf, Jay enjoys the outdoors by hiking and playing squash. He and Louise are planning more overseas travel which they’ve enjoyed intermittently, but which has been torpedoed by the arrival of grandkids. But being a family man, Jay doesn't mind that trade-off at all.
ShapiroCM is embarking upon its 25th year in business. Our experienced staff of architects, engineers, project managers and more lead complex projects with care, precision and the integrity we’re known for. As a Woman-Owned Small Business, we bring an independent, owner-first perspective to every project we touch.
